This is a mandatory survey course
for grade 8 students. The students will rotate through the three applied
skills areas: Business & Computer Technology Education, Home
Economics, and Technology Education. The Business & Computer Technology
Education component of the course will include: MS Word formatting skills, GarageBand, and an introduction to Scripting/Coding and
animation using Scratch. Students will also become familiar with the use
of the Internet with respect to their personal digital footprint, social
media, internet safety, online etiquette and as an inquiry/research tool.
Correct keyboarding skills/technique will also be emphasized.
